To solicit and sell products for our companies, a Representative/Producer must have the proper state insurance licenses/credentials and be contracted and appointed to one of our companies. Additionally, if a Representative is FINRA registered, a Broker Dealer Selling Agreement Contract between the Broker Dealer and GWFS Equities, Inc. is required.

If you are appointed by GWL&A and/or GWL&A of NY as an agent:

  • You shall be appointed as an independent producer and not as an employee of GWL&A and/or GWL&A of NY.
  • You have no authority whatsoever to change any of the terms, rates or conditions of GWL&A's and/or GWL&A of NY's insurance policies.
  • You may only use sales literature that has been pre-approved by GWL&A and/or GWL&A of NY.

The California Department of Insurance has issued Regulations entitled the California Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations (Title 10, Chapter 5, and subchapter 8, California Code of Regulations). These Regulations require insurance companies to adopt standards for the prompt investigation and processing of claims in California. GWL&A has adopted standards providing that, if you or any of your staff receive a claim involving GWL&A, you must immediately forward the claim information to Empower Retirement.
